Grey skies melting
the sun fades away
rain falls through the atmosphere
as we sit
and watch
and wait
plane sits out on tarmac,
safe to stay in place.
Gotta go
gotta fly
heading home
through the troubled skies,
lightning strikes close
through windows the tired faces
watch
looking at wrists
looking at phones
and I sit speaking
of lightning and rain
and things that nature brings,
no hurry
no worry
some things pass in time
as this shall too
nowhere to go
waiting
writing
content to just have time
that always seems to be
in limited supply.
Cannot look at it badly
cannot change the skies
that cry on the pavement
and light the world
with bolts from clouds
angry but moving
slowly away.
Fade to a light shower
going home
peace in my heart,
thoughts in my mind
and a place to leave a piece
of this moment in time
behind to mark
another moment in this day.
Finally made it home, storms passed but oh what a very long day;)

Getting ready to board soon. Yay!!! Hope I don’t have to miss my connection or I’ll be home at 3 am:( I need a sword I think to force my way to speedier pilots, no, that wouldn’t be good:( I would be arrested.

thanks Amy, everyone else stresses, worst case is I drive home in the middle of the night if I miss the connecting flight. They are close to boarding but I won’t know if I miss the connection till we get to the next stop. Have two co workers so at least I am not alone here. But I don’t want to talk work so I write and smile instead:) peace and love, K

Really nice. I love this … while others are worrying about “time”, you instead write. I would have done the same thing. And said a “thank you” for this time. (smile) Thank you for sharing this. Love, Amy

I take this as mother nature’s many ways of slowing us down to appreciate the moment. We’re always on the go..but what can you do with a hurricane outside your window? What can you do there’s thunder and lighting impeding on our plans? Nothing. We can only wait til it passes.
