Summer vase blooming

I find that to gaze on the loveliness
of gentle blooms plucked
and grown in the yard,
goes a long way in preserving
the moments of happiness.
As summer seems to be winding down
and the days get shorter,
the vibrant grasses grow dull
and the leaves start changing
into their autumn attire,
I don’t mind cutting my blooms
and looking at them knowing that
they too shall soon pass on
into the slumber of fall.
They add a bit of bright color
to my world and I thought I would share
my view with you.
