Morning sunflower

I see the morning come forward

through blue hazy clouds,

lightning obscuring sleep

scorching heat pushed aside

like a wave of cool water

washing the nights humidity

into cool of dawn.

Sunflower leans heavy

seeds fodder for the moving birds

destination breakfast

moving off again in a flutter of wings.

Yellow hues of sunshine

still waiting to be seen,

hidden in the heavy swollen sky

pregnant with clouds billowy.

Easy Saturday morning

pondering with thoughts of what will come

this new born day

alive before me

moving gently.

  2. I pass a house occasionally that has a yard filled with them, they all flop over and they try to tie them up but doesn’t work very well, a beautiful sight regardless:) fields of them must have been simply amazing:) thanks Kat:)
