You make me smile
so happy to see this life
so sweet
like a cookie on a plate
sharing amongst the world
the pretty shapes of this moment
hearts and stars filled with sugared taste.
This sweetness of life,
you fill my heart with the goodness
of home and hearth,
warmth and washed down
with the milk of the universe,
dreams filled with jam
and a full stomach of hope.
The plate never empty
more good things await
the scent of joy and a hint of almond
like trees above our heads
abundant with nuts waiting to be plucked
and opened to release
the beauty of simplicity,
the meat of the gifts
of life.
