Enter magic

Old pages crackle

childhood books

filled with magic and mystery

eagerly awaiting the  next page

and the next,

yet saddened with each end

lost in a world of the storybook.

Pumpkin coaches and princes on horse

wandering the roads of the writers imagination

that spilled with joy

one word at a time

spinning the web of lore.

Between the covers

friends of another world

come together

dancing at balls and kissing frogs

fun and merriment

ah the wonder of the child’s mind

that can be lost within

while the adult wonders

why can’t they go back

to easier days and nights spent reading

tired eyes and mind lulled into dreams

with a bit of fairy tale imaginings

and innocence of youth.
