Dreaming magic

As a child
Tucked in tight
Magical worlds
I would visit at night.
Faeries and creatures
My friends in the dark
Wandering wonderland
Dreaming bliss.
Growing I did not tire
Of these fantastic trips
Flying in skies
Living in the quiet simple life.
Nightmares cast aside
I ran to the light
Laughter following like echoes
Home at sleep.
I still visit often
Between trips to the stars
Standing in cold I close my eyes
Taking me away again.
Still believing in the magic
The wonder never ceases surprise
And I wake with a song
Lullaby of yesterday and today.
