Yellow

I needed to be
The color Of happy
The splendor of sunshine
The shades of flowers
That brought smiles.
Such a strange word I think
YELLOW
Such a simple color
Loud and vibrant
Look at me it seems to shout
Or perhaps to yell?
I needed shades
Of that single bloom
Born from seed left behind
Unseen by the birds of winter
Or the squirrel foraging?
Pressed down by a step
By the weight buried
Into the earth to rise
From a place not quite a garden
Yet there it stood seeming as if to say
I made it
I survived.
And it reaches for the sun
This lonely flower
This happy sight
Yellow of hope
Rising.

  1. I was starting to wonder this morning where you live…must be scary…all the mystery and death so I went off the path and found chipper writing in your archives😊 I always enjoy exploring with my morning coffee☺️ and thank you for the adventures😊

Mine is red. May I thank you very much for liking so many of my poems I shall have to start writing more. Be Safe and Well. The Foureyed Poet.

  3. Needed to feel hopeful, having a rough stretch and to think positively will hopefully make it happen. And last year I had a wayward flower grow under the bird feeder, they must have missed a sunflower seed🌻
