Dusk falls

Your blue tinged feathered clouds soothe

like whispered thoughts moving through dusk

I stand in awe of the beauty you possess and fall

in love with the wind once again.

Moon comes soon in tumultuous times

and peace falls like ashes from a cigarette

to the ground sparking embers

where drought claimed space

fire burns leaving charred remains

and I gather water like rain

that falls with the thunderous sound

as lightning snakes across behind

I look forward to the slipping of time

into the horizon,

tomorrow will again be born anew

and I will wait with my heart in my hands

praying for the peace once again,

castles on sand washed away by tides

but these hands will rebuild

as it is all they know

to create,

to give life

to breathe.
