Dog poop and yummy food

So our neighbor inquired if we had been, how shall I say it, putting dog poop bags into his garbage can. I stifled a laugh and of course said Nope, wasn’t us. Our neighbor doesn’t use his garbage can, he makes one tiny bag per week that sits on his lawn, soaked by his sprinkler system and I suppose the garbage men get to pick up wet and drippy but “clean garbage” when all is said and done. Well, apparently he had just looked into his can for the first time in forever and found a dog poop bag with a gift within. He was a mite upset about the whole ordeal, and it’s not like he’s an old cranky codger or anything, in his early sixties at best. Now I pick up our dogs gifts that they bestow daily like clockwork, tie it tight and slap it on my back in the pack I carry. I take it home where I have a metal can specifically for these gifts. So flash forward a day and he asks my husband again if he’s seen anyone in his yard depositing Fifi’s little gifts into his trash can. Of course we have not, and once again, no it isn’t us. I figure he must have upset someone in the neighborhood, how I do not know but we hope he puts up a camera and catches the suspect soon. He is not a dog owner or he would obviously be making more garbage per week, I should know, our two are never-ending machines at making gifts. I am still chuckling about it and at least someones picking up their dog poop besides us.

On another note, but a much nicer one, hubby made a scrumptious breakfast today and I thought I’d take a pic and share. My girl Lady G had a post the other day asking about what people are cooking up these days and today we were blessed to partake in this:

Now that there is cinnamon apple bread french toast with real New York maple syrup with chicken breakfast sausage to compliment. See, and you thought this whole piece would be about dog poop, didn’t you? So what’s happening in your neighborhood that’s given you a laugh lately or what’s cooking good-looking? Please share, the world needs more chuckles and growling stomachs.

  1. thanks Marie, I found the signs on the internet and they made me laugh so definitely had to share, yes and the lovely “gifts”, just finished clearing the yard and depositing them down the chimney(the metal doggie can), I always get at least 3 on our morning walk about the neighborhood, but we’re moving steady for a good hour so gives them lots of time to create and shove them out 🙂 thanks for visiting and peace and proper gifts of blessings, Kim

  2. As always, I love your sense of humor and your fun way of writing.

I also like that you described poop as little gifts!!! I am immensely grateful for anyone who picks up said gifts because it’s a polite thing to do. Yay for the signs!

  4. This post made me smile.. I hope your neighbour discovers the dog pooper popper.. 🙂 And at least it was all gift wrapped and deposited and not left in its natural state upon his lawn… 🙂
We have lots of dog walkers through our cul-de-sac but the local council have provided adequate bins for this purpose at the end of the streets..

Hope you are having a peaceful Sunday Kim.. xxx Hugs Sue

  5. I know it’s not us, I’m not that witty to have even thought of it, but we are the only house within the block who has dogs so as long as he isn’t blaming us, I’m okay with that 🙂

  7. You got me GOOD girl!!!! I was ALL into the dog poop story thinking to myself, “Who in the world could be sharing dog poop with this unsuspecting man?” LOL!!

  9. Ha, he’s originally from New York….not the city, but a few hours from where we lived….not a bad guy but a bit odd at times, comes home everyday for lunch and to grab his mail….and I think to use the potty before he jumps in his truck and heads back to work😊💩

  10. He just might! Haha! Can you imagine him sitting in his office, sipping coffee, mumbling to himself as he watches the video playback??? “Mmmhmm, I got ya now.” I’m dying, Kim! Who really cares about stuff like this?

You guys be careful down there. He sounds like a piece of work.

  11. I had to stifle a laugh, although it was preceded by asking if we had a gun and if we see anyone doing that to shoot them, as if! Just the idea that they keep doing it and it’s not a short driveway, garbage next to the garage, I only put my bagged in garbage at the end of the road on garbage day, knowing it will be picked up shortly😊 I wouldn’t put it past him to put a camera out there😁

  13. I miss the woods outhouse too, as do the girls I’m sure, even here in the yard I go “egg hunting” as the leaves are pin oak I think and they look so similar, hubby bought me a flat scoop and rake that would be suitable for a Shetland pony, it’s so big. Stay warm my friend and enjoy your green juice😊💕☮

  14. I know, right? I think he throws his trash out at work because he doesn’t compost, how can one human make so little garbage? We have three different pick ups down here, one for recycling, one for regular garbage and then one for yard refuse. Florida makes a lot of garbage😊💕 breakfast was amazing, get to finish the bread off this am with toast😊 thanks so much for stopping in, Kim

  15. Can’t help but laugh when I read the bit about your neighbour getting upset with the poo bag in his trash bin. It is… ultimately a trash bin right? Where trash goes in? Perhaps where that soaked soggy bag should sit in as well! Anw , breakfast looked yummy!!!

  16. I’d love to meet your neighbor. I can only imagine the look on your face, especially Jeff’s! Thank goodness no one’s throwing loose poop into his garbage can, he’d probably have a heart attack. 😕

    That breakfast, though!!! Yummy!

  17. Your post made me realize how grateful I am to live in the woods where Wren gets to do her business without my involvement. 🙂 I look at it as fertilizer for some lucky plant.
Our neighborhood right now, with the recent thaw, is rather muddy, (early ‘mud season’), but I don’t expect it to last. A cold front will blow through in a few days bringing more frigid temps.
Your breakfast looks great! While our breakfast is usually a green smoothie, sometimes I like to make a one similar to yours as a special treat. Who doesn’t love french toast with real maple syrup? 😉

  19. Ha ha. My neighbors are always depositing their dog poop bags into my trash cans. On trash pick up day especially as I get home later than sooner and my cans are sitting right by the road. Also our front yards are tiny and it takes just a few steps to be up where the trash cans are stored until pick up day. I don’t mind, better to pick up than leaving on my grass or walk!
