Beyond the seas

Blue skies quietly linger

in the light of a dying sun,

nestled in for the evening

we are swept away on tranquil seas.

Shades and hues of life

linger in the mind sweet memories

captured within for future dreams

washing away the cares of the day.

We watch the masterpieces of the touch

of a universe that gives to all

as our love moves deeper as days pass

rippled on tides of coming Spring,

we slip into dreams wondering

what each tomorrow brings

yet sit content in the now

and the gift of a watercolor image

tucked into the keep

of the heart.

My dreams lie within and beyond the sea,

changing day by day

I dive in a little deeper,

letting it all carry me away

knowing the horizon

is still just a heartbeat in time,

there beyond my gaze and found

by my lingering touch on the water,

I drift on.

  1. Thanks Brian, enjoying everyday that comes to me, a whirlwind life but learning a lot and enjoying it all, have an awesome weekend too. Found a box on my porch last night before bed, found within it a sharks jaws (cleaned kind they sell in stores) gifts from Dad…..strange and fun surprises😊🙏🏻💜😁

  2. Il faut de tout pour faire un monde… One needs a bit of everything to make a world. You seem to like the new job. Glad for you. My regards to Hubby, and “y’all have a nice week-end naw!”

  4. ha, slept with the window open and woke early and refreshed, I’m never up this early and it feels good, I think the groundhog doesn’t matter down here, but it’s pretty cool as we speak, brrrrrr 🙂

  5. We made it through so far. Can’t believe it’s way colder today than yesterday! D had a horrific time getting through ice that’s sandwiched between snow and other snow–in order get our car out of the driveway. Our good neighbor came and gave a hand, thank goodness. Mid-thirties sounds like great pajama weather! Snuggle up while you can….:)

  6. What a great poem, and the photo reminds of something I’ve seen on a few occasions when the sky is just right for the sun to turn it to a kaleidoscopic watercolor ! Thanks for sharing this 🙂
