Awaken

Did we wake from our perfect slumbers

rising into the atmosphere beyond thought,

noses in the air catching the scent of something,

still bleary eyed and searching

for the light of a new day?

Did we climb the mountain in search,

was it sustenance that drove or wonder

as we imagined what lay on the other side

from where our feet stood planted?

As we surveyed what lay before us,

looming high and immense

a bit too intense

to take another step,

did we falter in our thoughts

as they carried us farther away from reach,

and do we have the strength within our souls

to move higher into the light that shines

waiting for the change

that makes all the difference in our world.

It’s often funny how thoughts change with each day that passes,

from one to the next we move through ideas

as the lightbulb flashes like a disco ball spinning,

we dance through the motions

yet often need to just stop and listen

to the sounds of the wild,

the voice that calls us to more

yet do we have the courage

strength

stamina

to take that first step?

  1. thanks Noah, just pondering the day and changes some friends are making, and this kind of morphed from that….the idea of waking after a ?hibernation? and what is it we seek, remembering the song the bear went over the mountain too 🙂 peace and love, K …..dancing through too 🙂
