We fall
scattered amongst the brick-a-brack
forgotten and left
dwelling in stones of varying weights,
thoughts that got caught
when the tides of our life
washed us up to shore
away from the bliss of our oceans.
We dry in the haze of an unforgiving sun
and feel the breath exhale
with the coming of the night salt air
cooling the spaces
illuminating our shells
making us perfect and lovely once more.
We feel the dampness
laying heavy upon our souls
and hearing the distant sounds
of the waves of our yesterdays call,
we reach out
so tired and weary
feeling the tide returning to find us
carrying us back
into the bliss of blue,
regenerating our lives
with the moon above
we sigh gently
and sink below.
