By the sea

Time spent in ease
a dabble of this and that
as the minutes move past.
Brush strokes in the silence of the room
a drop here and a drop there
watered down to hue
applied aimlessly.
Experiment in changing tones,
the only way to learn
the science of blending
a creation of whimsy,
never knowing what will rise
when the last stroke moves.
The grey day sits beyond
my view of a dreary yet loved day,
walks and time spent
doing whatever strikes the fancy
and some new pieces to tuck away
as I begin again.

My last day off before back to work tomorrow. Writing done, painting practice done, and two walks in. (one with the nitwits and one without) Life is good. Still working on the skills as you can see, but having fun and that’s what counts, right?

  2. A beautiful, relaxing poem. And the picture on the left is particularly arresting with those fiery reds hanging over such a tranquil place.

  3. If I were granted the gift of two talents I lack, they would be painting and playing the guitar. So glad you are loving your adventure so much. I also just looked back at the beginning days of my blog and realized you were one of my very first readers almost 5 years ago. And we’re still hanging in there!

  4. How beautiful, that this beauty comes out of the nothingness of mind πŸ™‚ I am very glad that it feels bright in real life to you, the colors are showing it. I can agree I feel that way too.

  5. thanks Pragal,
I just went into it with nothing in mind to paint, just playing with colors and this is what came out. I did filter it in a chrome to brighten it up as the dark day outside did not lend itself to do the colors justice. It is bright in real life πŸ™‚ peace and love, K
