Liars and Thieves release party

I have had the pleasure of following D. Wallace Peach for years now, and have joined in the party of her latest release, Liars and Thieves. Her style always amazes me, and I am so happy to be able to join in the fun. Here is a little bit about her latest:

Behind the Veil, the hordes gather, eager to savage the world. But Kalann il Drakk, First of Chaos, is untroubled by the shimmering wall that holds his beasts at bay. For if he cannot cleanse the land of life, the races will do it for him. All he needs is a spark to light the fire.

Three unlikely allies stand in his way.

A misfit elf plagued by failure—
When Elanalue Windthorn abandons her soldiers to hunt a goblin, she strays into forbidden territory.

A changeling who betrays his home—
Talin Raska is a talented liar, thief, and spy. He makes a fatal mistake—he falls for his mark.

A halfbreed goblin with deadly secrets—
Naj’ar is a loner with a talent he doesn’t understand and cannot control, one that threatens all he holds dear.

When the spark of Chaos ignites, miners go missing. But they won’t be the last to vanish. As the cycles of blame whirl through the Borderland, old animosities flare, accusations break bonds, and war looms.

Three outcasts, thrust into an alliance by fate, by oaths, and the churning gears of calamity, must learn the truth. For they hold the future of their world in their hands.

Being a new fantasy author myself (or at least in the near future), I always love to know what makes other authors tick. Here’s a question I asked of D:

Fantasy is a broad genre. Can you narrow down the description of this series?

I’d probably call it “apocalyptic dark fantasy.” I like dark fantasy because it can get pretty grim (like an apocalypse) and is often unpredictable (like chaos). The story doesn’t start that way, but as things roll downhill, I’d say it ends that way. The last book in the series doesn’t have any pussyfooting around. There’s action, adventure, danger, a touch of humor and romance. And a bit of hope.

Trailer: You’ve got to check this out, it’s beautiful and so well done. I’m a new follower to her on Youtube now 🙂

I’ve already gotten my copy, but if you would like to check her book out, you can find it here:

Who is this amazing author???
book photo low low res

D. Wallace Peach started writing later in life after the kids were grown and a move left her with hours to fill. Years of working in business surrendered to a full-time indulgence in the imaginative world of books, and when she started writing, she was instantly hooked. Diana lives in a log cabin amongst the tall evergreens and emerald moss of Oregon’s rainforest with her husband, two dogs, bats, owls, and the occasional family of coyotes.

Where else can you pop in to check out more amazing things from this incredible author?

The spirit of writing

I read your words
And find myself transported
To faraway lands
I see the magic of your eyes
Through the lens,
The things you capture.
I am in awe of your words,
How they flow effortlessly
Like the sweetest honey
Blending in the tea,
I swallow your speech
From pen to paper
I live through you
Visiting blue seas and
The green grass of Ireland,
The people of faraway lands,
The languages I am not able
To understand.
I weep with you when you cry
Your heart and soul
Bleeding with each emotion
You spill for our eyes.
I thank you all
The magic of you,
You each have your own essence
And I am honored to count you
Amongst my friends in dreams
Of words.
