Friends

They linger in memories

Old days long gone yet still here

Gathering in my mind

Each day that passes by

Two entities breeds apart

Here always side by side

Enriched lives we lived

Remembering with love.

Our prompt today was today was to do an acrostic and my subject matter for friends was our dog Zip (why I’m known as Infinite Zip for you new comers) and his buddy Meep (aka Fat Squishy cat). Both our fur babies are no longer with us but I like to hope they are somewhere together, just hangin’ out and having a good time like the old days.

Everyday moments

Lovely blooms dress the summer life
Skies blow chilled winds
Feeling like Fall
I sit quietly embracing
Everyday moments.
Cat comes to call
Unimpressed by my pretty flower mess
Too large for vases
A thermal cooler to hold
The towering petals heavy with life.
I smell the air
Smoke from a distant fire fills
My thoughts with memories of other days
Other fur friends now gone
And the blessings of nature abound.
Sweet days move too quickly
And as days grow longer
I only long to make them stop,
Stay awhile longer here
Living these seconds of now.

And then a lovely moment of laughter of a dog ass photobomb.

Electric sky dance

Ms nature is laughing
Queen of the party
Strobe lights flashing
Like the glint of eyes
From a mad man.
Thunderous applause fills
Rooms of darkness
Three a.m and the skies are alive
Flashing strobes blinding
This dance of wee morning hours
And we are invited to the show
Unexpectedly as the wind blows
Like the screech of the banshee
Whipping shades
Slashing rain
And little dog moves closer
Seemingly afraid
Of the electric sky boogie.
Leisurely I lay watching
As the life of white smothers the atmosphere
Flashing never-ending
And the dance of rising
Cannot be set aside
And I move through halls
Hands touching walls
Eyes adjust to the inner darkness
Of places untouched
By the party at hand
As coffee scents the air
I stand out under the porch
And watch the morning concert.

Thoughts on waking during a non-stop lightning and thunder-storm. What a beautiful spectacle at the middle of night point when I should have been sleeping, instead I stand out to bear witness to this spectacular light show.
