A drop of sweetness

I dreamt of beauty,

beauty inspired by the touch of your lips ,

lips so soft upon mine as I lay waiting,

waiting and watching the dream unfold,

unfolding like a new bloom on the rose.

I flew through skies the color of purple

purple setting sun echoes rippling on meadows.

The rain fell upon us as the sun switched course,

coursing through my veins the blood so hot-

hot enough to cast moisture on my sleeping form,

formless we became one.

One moment of a thousand dreams,

dreams that leave me wondering where is the memory

memory that slips away like a drifting fog

fog of emptiness dissipates when gone away,

away from the edge of my thought-

thoughts that lent beauty and magic to the night,

night that slips beyond back into day-

daydreams that read like a sonnet or poem-

poems of splendor and passion-

passion like the purple of a rose unfolding,

unfolding like your arms as they pull me close.

NaPoWriMo-Day Eight- Dance of the desert rose

I saw them there dancing beneath the sun,

Arms high as if in praise,

In ecstasy they stood tall

Curves smooth and flowing

Legs flowing into the earth.

A gift to see these dancing forms,

Free and wild with abandon they beckoned me,

Join in the celebration of magic and life,

To swing and move feeling it all

The joy of living,

The happiness everything around us.

They reached out as if to say

This is all that matters child,

Here and now beneath the sun

And when she sets another will rise

Giving light this new moon to ignite

The spirit and passion

In this dance of the desert rose.

Day eight prompt was to pick a flower and write a poem about it, my neighbor gave me as a house warming gift, a desert rose but alas the one bloom it possessed had fallen off so in her stead, I found his image which made me feel happy and they seem to me to be dancing, these big curvaceous blooming trees and of course I had to join in. Enjoy, dedicating this to Elouise….you will dance to the new steady beat….thinking of you with joy and all that is good.

Peace

Unwind

Life,
Years like petals
Starting curled up tight
Waiting
Bit by bit
The nourishment of sun
Food of the soul
Slow motion unwinding
White satin sheets
Softly opening to receive
To become
To bloom into all it is meant to be.
The universe called me flower,
My life wrapped and tight,
I may unwind to the winds
Of change
Of seasons moving past
Of wisdom like awakening,
Of the truth of myself.
I am the seed given life.
I shall be splendid and adored
I am a gift
To the earth.
I am under the sun shining
A bud on the stem
One among many
But unique in my way.
In my peaceful garden
My mind dances on wind,
Open and free
To be.
