The newest addition to our family…and part of why I’ve been “preoccupied” lately. World and friends, this is KitKat. She’s part munchkin cat and a year and a half old. We adopted her from the rescue shelter down the street after our beloved Smokey didn’t return after a month. She’s a cutie and a bit shy, although doing nicely at taking swings with her paw at the dogs noses.
All the cowboys,
riding the line all the way down
taking it where it leads,
living it as only they can.
Sleeping bags tucked and memories,
music hangs on evenings air
stars sparkle just a bit brighter tonight
as rhinestones join the game,
another empty space in heaven
filled with song.
Suffering at its end as the train rolls by,
childhood vinyl held in trembling hands
not to mar the fresh new smell
the 70’s in the mind alive and well.
But I am blessed for I can recall
and still to this day sing,
for another cowboy flying high
as peace to him now this day will bring.
“And I need you more than want you,
And I want you for all time
And the Wichita lineman is still on the line” (4/22/1936-8/8/2017) Glen Campbell
Ride that line Glen, follow it as far as only you can, I’ll still be listening on the wire with a reminiscent tear in my eye. Infinite day, Infinite life.
Sensations move through
undulating thoughts of life
fabric moving on the softest skin
like diamonds that glitter in moonlight
and blaze in the sun that drips down
as moisture moves like tides
sliding over the curves it finds
shimmering pools left behind
unleashed and alive.
How we find a certain joy
captured in jars and painted on
things that sparkle and give life
opalescent hues beckon eyes
follow the focus to find
the mystery and treasure lying there
within the softest folds
open and waiting.
