New blue

Time gathering momentum
Tides rush in the midnight hour
Salt spray air fuels mist of cloud
New blue shades
Mix and match
Like artists palette
Blended in deep thought.
My mind drifts back
To stormy nights
And windswept beaches,
The haunting sound
Like hurricane hiss
Filling my ear
Reckoning of a roar
Deafening in its self.
Water washed over
The forms of illusion
As the current sweeps out
The litter of the day,
Swept clean and left orderly
Storm falls out of favor
Turning and moving back to horizons edge,
Forgotten with the coming
Of red skies to change
New blue to purple
Peace to the shallows
Sea life trapped
In rocky crags
Lost to the ocean
Floundering in solitary pools
Clear
No longer counted
Amongst the school.

  1. I don’t see these comments straight away and have to hunt them down mercilessly with an unripe banana – you are welcome to my comments as they are only there because of your fine words – I wish that I read more and wrote slightly less – it is a fine balance – Graeme;) take care

  3. No, not really, just revisiting the essences of beaches at different times, colors changing, fish caught in rocks, and storms that blow in and out πŸ™‚ may have been the dark side of my mind taking over though πŸ™‚ smiles.

  4. Lovely thoughts ‘in blue’, Kim.:) And a pic is stunning, too. The blue sky and the blue sea are two most beautiful things in the world.:)

  5. Thank you Claire, I kept picturing the way the wind blows in my ears and drowns out the sounds but always leaves impressions of the different blues found πŸ™‚ glad to have swept you into the waves πŸ™‚

This was a mind ramble upon seeing the picture, in the 5 minutes to write first impressions I found it dark but with the change now content πŸ™‚ Kim

liked this and the many lines of magical imagery – if mine I may have thought about changing one of the ‘out’ line endings – but that’s just me – keep writing beautiful words Grae:)
