Eyes of love (Ode to Apple)

Through the sweetest eyes you speak to me

The love so deep within that waits for a simple hello,

I know what it is you’re thinking

as I have always known since the first time I saw you

hundreds of miles away in a cage,

sadness filled you then-left behind and forgotten

but now you have us and our undying affection

and as you speak to me with those eyes

it’s almost as if were you to be able to talk

I know you would surely say…..

Can I have a treat? How about a bone? Is it bone-thirty yet? 100_1582Can I have a biscuit? Whatcha got there for me? Can I have some too? Did you say walk? Did you say ride? I think I smell steak on that grill, am I right? Can I share some of that with you? I want to go out…I want to go in…..I think I’ll just get this dirt all good up there on your nice bed, okay? Hmmmmm….yep, that’s what she’d say.

  1. aww I am so happy that you helped and you still do by doing what you can yeah we have plenty here too…we are at our limit just due to not having enough pins for them and we want to be able to spend enough time with each one as much as we can too..they have the truck drivers 18wheelers drivers doing alot to help out so that if someone sees a post we try to get the animal there…it’s a lot more work than most think …you know how it is!!!…my better half is sick most of the time well more like you never know when it will hit him it CVS he got put out of work due to illness since he could not risk being out say California by himself and get sick and not able to get to the hospital it happened once and his dad a big truck driver too we were going to go get him I was going to fly and drive to him and his dad was going take his big truck and drive to pick him up but lucky my better half new the place he was at and the cook/owner noticed he hadn’t been in and went to check on him and took care and watch on him made him homemade food light things but one time he did end up in the hospital in California with a pic line in his neck..he tried to get his disability years back but at the time not many heard about it so he still doesn’t have it..so when he does get sick with the CVS he is in bed for almost a week at a time just throwing up buckets full…no lie..the big plastic ice cream ones…he sticks it out at home and doesn’t go to the hospital since he has no insurance or anything and doesn’t want to be a burden to the county …anyways lol…
That does help with what all you do..I hope one day I can do more than this but we are full here so that takes up most of our time..We just got more pins so I hope we can move the dogs around and all that fun stuff…we have the property for sure that is not the problem lol…
Oh I have some family down in Florida too…I think they went back up to Vermont now..they go back in forth lol…
Well please keep in touch I really enjoyed our talk….sorry to take so long to get back with you..

  2. Ah yes, the love of our fur babies. The eyes that speak volumes and their amazing personality traits. What would we ever do without them. They are so unconditional. I love this. You have a beautiful angel.

  3. I,used to work with a cat rescue, now I have two rescue dogs myself and down to one stray cat we took in and fixed. Apple is from Manhattan animal control(surrendered at four years old) she wasn’t spayed so they did that and drove half way across the state to deliver her to us. Our other girl came from Niagara Falls SPCA after we lost our boy a month before. We just moved down to Florida and two dogs are more than enough in this small yard….I help where I can and go to a lot of fund raisers but to take more on….it would be chaos and I’d be divorced in no time……
    Peace and love,

  5. You should share a pic in your comments. I adore dogs and have two, they look similar to everyone when we go,walking, they think they’re sisters but one came from a Manhattan high kill shelter and the other from Niagara Falls SPCA. We adore them And yes, they have a cat pal too….they all keep me hopping. Hi to Ivy from the girls, the other one is Chi (like the Chinese earth energy). It’s fitting for her😊 thanks so much and have a love filled dog day Tuesday😊

  6. The picture of innocence! 🙂
I can relate to this lovely piece you’ve written – mine is Ivy, and when she looks at me, “Can I have a biscuit? Whatcha got there for me? Can I have some too? Did you say walk? Did you say ride? I think I smell steak on that grill, am I right? Can I share some of that with you? I want to go out…I want to go in…..I think I’ll just get this dirt all good up there on your nice bed, okay? 7. I really enjoyed this…beautiful …
We rescue dogs or foster them..we already had our dogs then we just wanted to help more ..you do not want to know how many we have lmao… some are outside dogs in the back and some are inside here with us…it is a full time job for sure..we so enjoy it and getting them to the right place and owner is the best…our saying is if you have one dog foster another it will not cost you anymore …as long as they get along…

  9. Gave them both a hug, and a bone…because it is now bone thirty….they like to remind me, especially when I come in with the grocery bags…..what’s in there for me? Haha, sweet things make my heart happy. Hi Jernee, hugs to you both💜

  10. Yes, they make me smile, even when they’re driving me bonkers…which is quite regularly. So glad you enjoyed it, might do the other pup in a few days time too. Peace and love, Kim

  11. APPLE!!!

Sweet girl! This is such a great poem for her, Kim!

All of this is clearly Jernee too:

“Can I have a biscuit? Whatcha got there for me? Can I have some too? Did you say walk? Did you say ride? I think I smell steak on that grill, am I right? Can I share some of that with you? I want to go out…I want to go in…..I think I’ll just get this dirt all good up there on your nice bed, okay?”

Please hug her from us, Chi too. 🙂

  12. she’s the photogenic one….I think because she has black around her nose, it makes it look huge when she’s looking up at you…I can never not smile when she looks at me that way 🙂
